After installation of CMSimple_XH the important settings should be adjusted right away.
The first thing to change is the password, which can be set in the administration area:
Since CMSimple_XH 1.5.4 the passwords are stored “encrypted”, and so they are displayed in the configuration form. If you want to change the password, just enter it “unencrypted” and save the form; it will be automatically “encrypted”. Since CMSimple_XH 1.6 there is a customary change password dialog; don't forget to save the configuration form after changing your password.
Note, that you will be logged out after changing the password, and that you have to log in again with the new one.
Since CMSimple_XH 1.6 there is also the setting Security→Email. If you enter an email address there (for security it's best to use one that is not shown on the website), the login page will have a “password forgotten” link, which allows you to get a new password, if necessary.
These settings are important information for search engines (the keywords are most likely ignored by search engines nowadays, though). Furthermore the title usually appears on the top of all pages, depending on your template. Depending on the CMSimple_XH version these settings can be done in:
The configuration form is mostly self-explanatory.
Some of these settings can be adjusted for every page individually with the plugin meta_tags. Without these page specific adjustments every page takes the general settings.
See The Mail Form.
After logging in to your CMSimple_XH installation, in the admin menu you find the item “Plugins”. (In CMSimple_XH < 1.5 this was the selection box “Select plugin…”, right below the edit menu.) Choose the plugin you want to configure, and the plugin menu with different configuration options will appear.
The number of options varies from plugin to plugin. The plugin programmer decides about that. Information regarding the settings should be found in the plugin's documentation. Instead of elaborate descriptions of configuration options many plugin developers use tool tips, which are hidden behind small blue question mark icons in plugin config.
